System testing dilakukan terhadap keseluruhan sistem untuk melihat fungsi-fungsi yang ada pada sistem (Functional Requirement Specification – FRS) dan atau kebutuhan sistem (System Requirement Specification – SRS).
Fokus dari system testing diarahkan untuk mencari kelemahan dan kekurangan sistem dan tidak hanya menguji tampilan saja, tetapi juga menguji apakah fitur-fitur yang ada pada sistem tersebut telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna sistem.
Pengujian juga difokuskan untuk mengetahui apakah sistem telah sesuai dengan spesifikasi kebutuhan perangkat lunak dan perangkat keras yang disyaratkan.
